This Privacy Policy describes how Vibemap ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and shares information about you when you use our mobile application, Vibemap, available on the Google Play Store and Apple App Store.

📦 Information We Collect

We collect the following types of information to provide and improve the Vibemap service:

• Email address (used to create and manage your account)
• Password (stored securely and never readable by us)
• Display name and profile photo (optional, chosen by you)

• Precise GPS location while using the app, to power the live map and vibe features
• Location is only collected when the app is in use (foreground only)

• Photos you choose to capture or upload for posts and your profile
• Camera access is only used when you actively take a photo within the app

• Your device contacts, used only to help you find and add friends within Vibemap
• Contact data is not stored on our servers without your explicit action

• Anonymous app usage data via Firebase Analytics to help us improve the app
• Crash reports and performance data

• Push notification token (Firebase Cloud Messaging) to send you notifications
• Device timezone, used for scheduling local notifications at the correct time

🔧 How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Create and manage your Vibemap account
• Power the live map and social features of the app
• Send you push notifications about activity relevant to you (e.g., friend requests)
• Improve and personalise the app experience
• Detect and prevent fraud and abuse
• Comply with legal obligations

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

🤝 Information We Share

We share your information only in the following limited circumstances:

• Supabase – Our backend database and authentication provider. Your account data is stored securely on Supabase servers.
• Firebase (Google) – Used for push notifications and anonymous analytics.
• Other users – Your display name, profile photo, and public posts are visible to other Vibemap users, as intended by the social features of the app.
• Legal requirements – We may disclose your information if required by law or to protect our rights.

🔒 Data Security

We take data security seriously. Your password is never stored in plain text — authentication is handled by Supabase's industry-standard secure auth system. All data is transmitted over encrypted HTTPS connections.

While we strive to protect your data, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. If you believe your account has been compromised, please contact us immediately at vibemap101@gmail.com.

🧒 Children's Privacy

Vibemap is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.

🌍 Data Retention & Your Rights

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active. You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your account and all associated data
• Withdraw consent for optional data collection at any time
